This abstract expression of the love a couple shares is in the private collection of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robison. I sized this to fit their house, and make a strong statement. I have always been intrigued with the sculpture of the late British Sculptor, Henry Moore. One of his sculptures is owned by Deere and Company and is on display at their headquarters building in Moline, Illinois. You can also see his work at the Chicago Art Institute and at the University of Illinois Chicago Circle Campus. I like to cut through the wood sometimes for the sake of creating interest and leading the eye not only around the piece but also through it. This piece is cut through twice. I tried to capture the more delicate feminine forms dancing with the stronger masculine shapes. Notice the beautiful grain of the walnut enhancing both the feminine and masculine forms. This piece makes a wonderful anniversary gift. |
