This seven-foot high cherry sculpture hangs in the new sanctuary of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria, Illinois where you can view it at any time. It was commissioned by Dr. and Mrs. Mike Treanor and quite deliberately designed for a church. Its form is amorphous, i.e. you can see it as either a descending dove or fire. I took the concept from the passage in Matthew 3:11 where John the Baptist says that the One coming after him will "baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire." I chose cherry because the elegant grain of cherry "flows" better and I think lends itself to express the forms of both a dove and fire. This piece can be ordered full size or perhaps other sizes to fit the setting. Size and price are negotiable
